Pest Control Tests was built because there wasn't a good free resource to study for the Michigan certification exam. So we made one — and we're trying to make it the best in the country.
Independent study resource. Pest Control Tests is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) or any state certifying body. Our questions are written from the publicly-available MDARD reference manuals and are for practice only — we are a private company, not a certifying authority.
If you've tried to study for a Michigan pesticide applicator exam, you know the options: a dense 200-page reference manual from MDARD, a handful of stale paid courses, and YouTube videos from out-of-state instructors covering different test material.
Most people learn faster by doing: taking practice exams, getting answers wrong, reading why, and trying again. That's the entire model here — 2,280 practice questions plus 1,245 flashcards drawn from every chapter of the official MDARD reference manuals, scored, explained, and re-shuffled every time you re-test.
The mission is simple: be the cheapest, fastest, and most thorough way to prepare for a Michigan pesticide exam. The free tier gets you started — real CORE practice exams for chapters 1-5 with instant explanations, matching flashcards, and every cheat sheet and study guide on the site. Premium opens the full CORE bank, Sim and Drill modes, per-chapter flashcard filtering, full score history, the leaderboard, and all of 7A, 7B and 7F when you're ready to push harder.
I'm Jacob S., a pest control tech. I built Pest Control Tests while I was studying for my own MDARD exams — the study resources that existed didn't fit how I actually learn, which is by doing problems, getting them wrong, and understanding why.
Every question, cheat sheet, and study guide on this site was written to be the resource I wished I'd had. I used early versions of it to study for and pass all my MDARD exams. The site has even more ways to study now — flashcards by chapter, one-page cheat sheets, full study guides, label simulators — all built around the same idea of learning by doing. The content is drawn directly from the official MDARD reference manuals — the same material the real exam tests against — and every question is reviewed against the source before going live.
Found a question that's wrong or out of date? Flag it on the question itself, or drop me a line. This site is maintained by one applicator who's still in the field, not a corporate publisher — real feedback is how it gets better, fast.
